Shot dead in Ukl, found dead in CCpur

Ukl/CCpur, January 02 2017:
A middled age man from Khunthak village under Kasom block, Ukhrul was today shot dead by personnel of 17 Assam Rifles.
The deceased person has been identified as Samson Athary (50) .
According to reliable sources the incident occurred at around 10.30 am today while Athary was returning from the jungle.
According to Southern Tangkhul villages chairman, Samson Athary was an innocent civilian and a native of Khunthak village.
The dead body is yet to be retrieved, stated the chairman.
It may be mentioned that Khunthak village is located at the extreme southern border village of Ukhrul district.
Reportedly, Khunthak village has been cordoned off by AR troops.
On the other hand, our CCpur correspondent reports that the lifeless body of a 35-year-old woman, mother of four, was discovered around 1 pm today at Tangnuam cemetery.
The body was taken to the district hospital mortuary by the police and was later identified as Siemneihkimi, 35 d/o (L) Lunkhokam.
Sources said the woman and her children had settled at Kolasib in Mizoram sometime back but was visiting her rented house here and was last seen on December 27 .
It is said that the body bore no visible injury marks but many people who had seen the body refused to rule out homicide.
