Senapati, August 01 2021:
The special COVID-19 awareness, advocacy cum vaccination, programme scheduled to take place on August 1, Sunday has been deferred to July 8 due to inaccessibility of road connectivity from Koide to Maiba village.
In a press release issued by the village authority, LD David, Chairman, Sheemai (Maiba) village stated that the villagers missed the golden opportunity of the free vaccination programme initiated by the District Administration.
The village chairman also sought the intervention of the concerned authority to provide proper inter village connectivity to the village at the earliest.
Globally, Covid Test and Covid Vaccinations are a social obligation that each individual is bound to involve as a social animal.
Covid vaccination is no doubt the most effective prevention/shield against Covid virus where most of the people shiver at the thought of this dreaded disease.
Two doses of the vaccination is therefore considered as the best preventive measure from severe attack of the virus as well as succumbing to the virus in one's life.
Maiba village under Paomata block within 47-Karong AC is stated to be about 8 kms from Koide village under Purul block of Senapati district'.
The village reportedly has 537 households with around 3041 population according to the 2011 Government census.
Some elders of the village quoted themselves to be unlucky as to have been born in the village where development lacks in almost all fronts.
The present road connectivity is filled with potholes filled with rain water.
No developmental programmes to improve the road connectivity have been initiated till date, villagers said.
The decision to postpone the programme due to bad road connectivity especially from Koide village to Maiba village was reportedly taken in the presence of DC, Senapati, SDO, Paomata, CMO, Senapati, District Surveillance Officer, District Immunization Officer and PHC, Paomata staff.
The village authority also appealed to all State Governement to look into the matter at the earliest.
