VHSND held across Thoubal

As part of the Government's 100 day action plan, the District Health Society, Thoubal organised Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Day at various villages in Thoubal district today.
It may be noted that VHSND has been organised in order to improve access to maternal health, child health, adolescent health, and nutrition services at the village level.
Dr Y Nokul Singh, Chief Medical Officer Thoubal, Ch Basanta Singh, District Program Manager and Md Riyas Sheikh, District Community Mobilizer attended the programme held at Panchayat Ghar, Langathel.
As a part of health talk, Dr Y Nokul Singh spoke about "World No Tobacco Day", the effects of tobacco on human health and environment.
He also interacted with participants on RMNCH-A+ .

Md Riyas Sheikh, DCM thanked the ASHAs and Anganwadi workers for successfully organizing the programme.
He highlighted various programmes and schemes under National Health Mission and also explained to the public about AB-PMJAY and Chief Minister gi Hakchel gi Tengbang (CMHT) .
Th Romen Singh, Malaria Technical Supervisor, gave a speech on prevention and control of vector borne diseases in the village.
Low cost sanitary pads, Iron Folic and Albendazole tablets were also distributed during the programme.
About 60 women and adolescent girls attended the programme.
Similar programmes were also held at Thoudam Mamang Leikai, Khangabok, Khullakpam Mamang Leikai, Yairipok Bamon Leikai Mathak Leikai, Chandrakhong, Ukhongsang Maning Leikai and Charangpat Maning Khongja Wangma.
It may be mentioned that similar VHSNDs will be held in 107 villages/leikais during the first 100 days.
