'One Stop Centre Longmai District' awareness programme held

One day awareness programme on 'One Stop Centre Longmai (Noney) District' was held on March 30 at Community hall Longmai Bazar.
The programme was moderated by Langangliu Kamei, IT staff OSC, welcome address by Ngaikhon Kamei, vice president, Longmai Youth League.
Lamana Riamei, Centre Administrator, OSC Noney and Peter Namsadai, Additional SP Noney attended the programme as resource persons.
Addressing the programme, Lamana Riamei highlighted the importance of 'One Stop Centres' and stated that it is to support the women and children affected by violence under the initiative of the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India.
Any case of violence against women and children like rape, domestic violence, child abuse and trafficking, etc may be reported to the centres or dial 181, toll free number for help, she added.
Lamana Riamei continued that with the help of the centre, the affected women and child can get medical aid, police assistance, legal aid case management, psychosocial counselling, temporary shelter, etc.
The awareness programme was also participated by leaders of women organisations, women society, anganwadi workers and PLVs of Noney Legal Aid Clinic.
