Rotary Club organises free health camp

Rotary Club of Imphal organised a one day Rotary Free Health Camp at Tera Children Home today.
Secretary of Rotary Club of Imphal, Devkumar Thoudam stated that Rotary Club of Imphal has been organising health camps at different locations in Imphal and added that similar health camps would be initiated in and around the Imphal valley soon.
He also expressed gratitude to Shija Hospital and Research Institute and Babina Diagnostic Centre for assisting in making the health camp a success.
Devkumar asserted, "To show our profound care, Rotary Club of Imphal has been providing free non-vegetable meal for the Children Home on second Saturday of every month.
Moreover, we are planning to undertake various developmental activities for the welfare of the children" .

During the camp, Dr Palin, Managing Director, Shija Hospital and Research Institute, stated that one of the children in the Home suffering from Ptosis will be treated in Shija Hospital free of cost.
He said, "Ptosis, a drooping or falling of the upper or lower eyelid, is a critical disease.
It requires an anaesthetic treatment prior to the surgery.
The estimated cost of the surgery is 40,000 to 50,000.However, we will treat and perform the surgery for free" .
At present, there are around 43 children living in the Children Home.
The Rotary Club of Imphal also distributed medicine and other basic materials to the children.
Altogether, 11 doctors at conducted a free medical examination at the camp.
