Imphal, May 31 2022: There are now eight Covid-19 active cases in the State after two samples were confirmed positive out of 118 samples tested for the virus during the last 24 hours taking the daily positivity rate to 1.7 per cent.

The two individuals who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East and Imphal West.

Even though there is neither any report of Covid related death nor recovery or discharge of Covid-19 positive person during the last 24 hours, the pandemic had already claimed 2120 lives in the State.

The total number of Covid positive cases in the State is 1,37,238 .

This figure includes 1,35,110 recovered cases (general population 1,30,103 and Central security personnel 5,007) and eight active cases, all civilians.

The recovery rate as on Tuesday is 98.45 per cent.

The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 28,98,282 (first dose 15,69,776, second dose 12,31,322 and precautionary dose 97,184) .

Till Monday, 61.87 per cent of the State's total eligible population has received the first dose of Covid vaccine while 52.24 per cent has been given both the first and second dose.
