Mother clarifies

Appealing for the release of her husband and daughter, who have been in police custody in connection with the death of B Pitaranjan Sharma alias Korabin of Old Checkon, N Lucy, mother of N Runmila of Kangkum village has made certain clarifications regarding the death of B Pitaranjan Sharma alias Korabin.
N Lucy said that her husband (Daniel Ningshen) and daughter (Runmila) have nothing to do with the death of Korabin.
In a statement N Lucy said that Korabin, who she fondly called 'Ibungo,' arrived at their village, Kangkum on April 19 .
She, her husband and daughter gave him warm accord.
Korabin wore a weary look on his arrival.
When Lucy asked if he was sick, he replied that he is alright.
Still, she took good care of him, even arranging warm water for him to take bath.
Lucy said that Korabin was known to the family since long as he used to visit their daughter Runmila at her rented home in Nongmeibung.
And he was told to give protective care to their daughter as she was staying alone in Imphal.
During his stay in the village, the family had no ill-feeling against him and the family gave the best service they can to him.
Seeing his (unusual) condition, she served her with tea and snacks and administered ORS to him in the morning of April 21 .
She later advised him to take rest.
Korabin left the house without informing them.
At that time, the mother was cleaning the utensils while the daughter was looking after the shop and the father was engaged in toilet construction.
When they came to know that he was not in the house, the family members thought that he might have gone to his home.
Informing the matter to his parents, they also enquired whether he had reached home or not.
When they were told that he had not reached home, the father started searching for him at every village they believed he could be.
On April 24, her husband (Daniel) could not join the search as he was attending a marriage ceremony of a relative in the village, Lucy said while expressing regret for that.
Saying that her husband and daughter have nothing to do with the death of Korabin, N Lucy appealed for the unconditional release of the two.
She also condoled the sad demise of Korabin.
