AMUCO mediates over Tunuphai village issue

Taking serious of the conflict between Zou and Vaiphei communities over Tunuphai village, a team of AMUCO led by its president Dr Y Mani held separate meetings with leaders of Zou community, Vaiphei community and civil society organisations of Churachandpur.
After talking with the leaders of different communities, AMUCO has appealed to all concerned to reconcile and settle the issue amicably.
If there is a problem, there must be a solution and AMUCO believes in this maxim, said a press issued by its secretary in-charge (organisation) L Thoi Khuman.
Highlighting the paramount importance of promoting the spirit of peaceful co-existence among all indigenous communities of the State, AMUCO prayed that both the Zou and Vaiphei communities may act with forbearance and resolve
the issue amicably.
AMUCO also extended relief assistance in the form of rice, dal, common salt, sugar etc to people who have been taking refuge at Zou Veng community hall because of the dispute over Tunuphai village.
While appealing to both the Zou and Vaiphei communities to maintain calm, AMUCO urged the Government to address the issue urgently in the interest of the people who have staying away from their homes.
