Imphal, July 30 2015:
Three MLAs who are members of the five-member committee constituted at the initiative of the State Government to draft a new Bill in the line of Inner Line Permit System have tendered resignation letters to the committee's chairman today.
The three MLAs who have sought resignation from the committee's membership are N Biren (Heingang A/C), Dr Ng Bijoy (Khurai A/C) and RK Anand (Naoriya Pakhanglakpa A/C) .
Sources informed that the three ruling MLAs sought resignation from the committee as they have serious grievances against the Government.
In connection with injuring a protester in police firing at Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai in the course of the 38 hour bandh called by the JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Sapam Robinhood, one police personnel was suspended.
The three MLAs saw this step of the State Government as discriminatory as no police personnel has been suspended in connection with the killing of Sapam Robinhood.
