14 new cases recorded, no deaths

Imphal, December 29 2021: The State reported 14 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the tally to 1,25,761 while the death toll remains at 2002 as no deaths were reported in the period.

As per COVID-19 Common Control Room, the positives cases were confirmed at JNIMS (4) and other testing centres (14) and are residents of Imphal East (1), Imphal West (6), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Ukhrul (1) .

As 1,291 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, the single day test positivity rate thus registered on Wednesday is 1.1 percent.

Among the districts, Tengnoupal reported the highest test positivity rate at 5.6 percent as 1 out of 18 samples tested positive from the district and it is followed by Thoubal (3.1 percent), Kakching (2.6 percent), Bishnupur (2.5 percent), Imphal West (1.6 percent), Ukhrul (1.4 percent) and Imphal East (.5 percent) .

As nine persons have been discharged from Home Isolation (2), JNIMS (6) and CCCs (1), the recovered cases have been increased to 1,23,574 while the recovery rate stands at 98.26 percent.

Currently, the State has 185 active Covid cases.

Yesterday, the State distributed 310 D-type and 98 B-type oxygen cylinders to different health facilities in Manipur and administered 3621 Covid vaccine doses on the same day.

The vaccination rate in Manipur stood at 56.46 percent (1st dose) and 42.01 percent (2nd dose) as on December 28 .
