We are confident to complete the peace process soon: RN Ravi

New Delhi, June 29 2016: "It will not take long to complete the journey left by Isak," said RN Ravi, interlocutor of the Naga peace talk at a condolence ceremony of late Isak Chishi Swu, Chairman of NSCN(IM) in New Delhi today evening.

Ravi who called Isak Swu a remarkable statesman said that they were close to the final goal had it not been for the sudden critical illness of Swu when it was halted.

Upon Swu's im-provement the framework agreement was signed last year, said Ravi to the Naga commu-nity who gathered at Nagaland house.

Condolence meeting held at Delhi

An emotional Muivah, while exalting the greatness of Swu's leadership emphasized the need for "mutual understanding" between "India and Nagas" and among the Nagas.

He said "under the leadership of Isak we have come to an understanding for peaceful relationship with India".

The NSCN-IM general secretary said in his speech, "India and GoI have proved their commitment and sincerity, which the Nagas must respect in return" .

Praising India's leadership, Muivah categorically stated that they (the NSCN �IM leadership) have reached this far.

Mentioning that he and Swu had been through several turbulences and challenges, he said, "I thank God.

I praise the Indian leadership" .

According to Muivah, sovereignty lies with the Nagas and that the NSCN(IM) leadership have found a "possible meeting point with GoI".

Terming Swu's demise a big lose at a critical juncture, Muivah appealed to the Nagas that it is now time for them to try to understand India.

He said Nagas should not doubt the wisdom of India's leadership, while categorically underlining the changing scenario and policies in the current Government.

Neiphiu Rio, former CM and MP of Nagaland, recalled his personal journey with the NSCN(IM) leader.

He said, "we must forgive and forget past mistakes" .

Urging and emphasizing on peace, the MP said that "we Nagas must pursue peace in our land and among ourselves" .

The body of the late NSCN (IM) leader, escorted by 'Naga warriors' in traditional attire with a war cry was brought from AIIMs to Nagaland House for the Naga public to pay their last respect.

The body will be flown from New Delhi tomorrow on a special flight to Nagaland for his final journey and burial.
