UCM office bearers: Sunil Karam take oath as the new President

With the term of Elangbam Johnson coming to an end Sunil Karam has been elected as the new President of the United Committee Manipur (UCM) .
25 others executive member of the committee has also been elected as office bearer for the term 2018 to 2021.Kh.
Athouba, a representatives of the IPSA has been elected as the General Secretary while Ngangom Deva Meitei as the Organisation Secretary.
The oath taking ceremony was held at the office of the United Committee Manipur located at Lamphel.
Outgoing president Johnson Elangbam while speaking on the occasion appreciated the people of the state for the support given to the organisation.

He appealed the people to continue the the kind of support in the struggle for protection of the unity of the Manipur.
He further said that the government of India should understand the sentiment of the people and no set up of any form that might distort the integrity of the state will be accepted by the people of the state.
He cautioned serious consequences to the formation of a separate territorial council for a specific community.
No Bodoland Territorial Council model could be brought here in the state of Manipur.
Newly elected president of UCM Sunil Karam said that the first task will be to strengthen the bondage of relationship between the various ethnic communities of the state.
He further re-iterated the stand of the UCM to any challenges to the integrity of the state.
Sunil further said that any solution of the NSCN-IM issue should not bypassed any stakeholder.
If the agreement between the NSCN-IM and the Government of India content any clause that would disturb the integrity of the state that the UCM along with AMUCO, CCSK and other organisation will launched serious agitation.
