Imphal, February 28 2016:
Chief Minister O Ibobi has categorically assured that the order which placed five personnel of Manipur Police under suspension would be revoked without fail.
The Chief Minister gave this assurance at a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) this afternoon.
The CLP meeting was specifically convened after 20 Congress MLAs raised an uproar against the Government's decision which put the five police personnel under suspension in connection with checking/frisking of a team of Naga Students' Federation (NSF).

The MLAs were even demanding disciplinary action against Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who is also in charge of Home Department.
During the marathon CLP meeting which lasted for four hours, the Chief Minister gave a detail explanation for suspension of the five police personnel, informed a source.
He then assured that the suspension order would be revoked without fail.
However, the Chief Minister did not give any definite time frame for revoking the suspension order.
As such, it is not clear how would the 20 disgruntled MLAs react in the Manipur Legislative Assembly tomorrow, added the source.
Alleging harassment upon three of their members by a team of Manipur Police at Mantripukhri who were on their way to Ukhrul to join Lui-Ngai-Ni celebration on February 14, the NSF threatened to ban movement of all vehicles belonging to Meiteis/Manipuris in Naga areas.
As the matter was raised in the ongoing State Assembly session, the Deputy Chief Minister went on record stating that no police personnel harassed or abused any NSF team.
Contradictory to this statement, five police personnel were placed under suspension a day after the NSF's ban came into effect.
This contradictory step enraged many Congress MLAs and they raised a banner of revolt against the Deputy CM .
