Testing kits installed a district headquarters, medical teams sent to sub-divisions

Churachandpur district Deputy Commissioner Jacintha Lazarus has claimed that the outbreak of dengue in Churachandpur district headquarters has been brought under control.
So far, 96 samples have been tested positive for dengue.
Kits procured for conducting dengue test have been installed in Churachandpur district hospital and suspected samples are being tested there.
Talking to The Sangai Express, Jacintha Lazarus stated that after the disease has been brought under control at district headquarters, medical teams have been sent to sub-divisions of the district like Singnat, Thanlon, Parbung etc along with testing kits to check if there is any case of infection by dengue in these sub-divisions.
So far, there is no report about detection of dengue in any of the sub-divisions, said the DC.

Informing that the district administration has procured 100 kits for testing dengue, Jacintha said that orders have been sent for another 200 kits.
The Government has initiated process to reimburse Rs 1500 each to 87 patients who spent the same amount for undergoing dengue test in private laboratories.
Altogether 30 medical teams, each team comprising of one health worker, one ASHA and two VDF personnel, have conducted house to house survey of 8000 families residing in Churachandpur town.
In the course of the survey, larvas of the mosquito breed which act as the carrier of the virus causing dengue were discovered.
The larvas were collected by Health Department for further investigation.
Paracetamol tablets have also been distributed free of cost to the villagers where dengue outbreak was recorded.
Fogging is also being carried out in these areas, informed the DC.
Moreover, the district administration has been carrying out an extensive cleanliness drive in Churachandpur town, she added.
