State records 140 more cases to take total to 5725

The State recorded 140 more cases of COVID-19 during the last 24 hours including 119 people with no travel history and 18 personnel of CAPF.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 140 people were tested positive for COVID-19 at RIMS, JNIMS, Churachandpur, Imphal East RAT, Imphal West RAT, IRL, Kangpokpi, Shija Hospital, Bishnupur, Babina Diagnostic Centre, Raj Medicity, Advance Hospital and Ukhrul.
They belong to Imphal West (85), Imphal East (10), Thoubal (8), Ukhrul (1), Senapati (1), Churachandpur (2), Kangpokpi (5), Bishnupur (4) and Chandel (6) .
In the meantime, 128 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from CAPF (46), Senapati (2), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (47), UNACCO (20), Kakching (3), RD Wing (2), Ukhrul (4), JNIMS (2) and Kangpokpi (2) during the last 24 hours after they were found COVID-19 free.
The cumulative cases of people infected by COVID-19 in the State has reached 5725 (general public 4251, Central security personnel 1474) including 1743 active cases (general public 982, Central security personnel 761) and 3957 discharged cases (general public 3245, Central security personnel 712) .
Meanwhile, sources informed that 39 persons have been found infected by the contagion after their samples were tested today at RIMS, JNIMS, other laboratories and through rapid antigen test.
The positive cases include seven residents of Takhellambam Leikai, seven residents of Yaiskul Chingakham Leirak, four residents of Kakhulong, four residents of Kodompokpi Mamang, one nurse of Lamjingba Clinic and one personnel of 13th Dogra Regiment posted at Imphal airport.
Out of 618 samples tested today at JNIMS, 36 were found to be COVID-19 positive.
Further nine and three persons were found positive after rapid antigen test at Thoubal and Jiribam respectively.
Meanwhile, five more staff of Advance Hospital, Palace Compound were infected by the virus today.
