Covid claims 18 more, 813 fresh cases reported

Imphal, May 27 2021:
Even as the State recorded 813 fresh Covid infections, 18 more persons succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, according to Government COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The 813 new cases were detected while testing a total of 4,298 samples.
This means 18.91 per cent of the total samples tested positive.
The total number of Covid cases has reached 47,111 while the number of active cases is 7,462.So far, 3,67,655 persons have been vaccinated against Covid which works out to only about 12.25 percent of the 30 or so lakh population of Manipur.
Vaccination for the 18 to 44 age group is also on.
As many as 576 persons recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours taking the total number of recovered cases to 38,901 .
The recovery rate stands at 82.57 per cent.
With the 18 deaths, the death toll has touched 748, as per Covid control room.
Notably, the death toll of 748 does not include the recent death of the minor girl from Imphal West and one 40-year-old person from Ukhrul who died yesterday.
The Covid control is yet to report these two deaths.
With the two cases, the death toll in the State is 750.Meanwhile, the 18 deaths include nine men and nine women.
Four of them were below the age of 50 years.
They died at CCC Kakching (1), District Hospital Tamenglong (1), Jivan Hospital (1), Rajmed (1), District Hospital Churachandpur (2), Home isolation (3), JNIMS (4) and RIMS (5).Kakching and Imphal East districts reported 5 deaths each while Imphal West reported 4 deaths.
Churachandpur district reported 2 deaths while Tamenglong and Kamjong district reported one case each.
The victims from Kakching district were all women aged 64, 75, 80, 83 and 87 years.
The victims from Imphal East include two women aged 70 and 80 and three men aged 45, 60 and 90 years.
The victims from Imphal West were two women aged 35 and 80 years and two men aged 60 and 65 years.
The victims from Churachandpur were two men aged 46 and 49 .
The victims from Tamenglong and Kamjong were men 65 and 57 years respectively.
Meanwhile, the 813 new cases include one personnel of the Central Armed Police Force and 812 from the general population.
They tested positive for Covid at testing facilities opened at District Hospitals (411), private hospitals (326), JNIMS (73) and RIMS (3) .
The 812 positive cases from the general population belong to Imphal West (300), Imphal East (169), Churachandpur (109), Kakching (57), Bishnupur (53), Thoubal (33), Senapati (24), Jiribam (17), Tengnoupal (12), Kangpokpi (12), Tamenglong (9), Ukhrul (7), Chandel (6) and Kamjong (4) .
On the other hand, the 576 persons who recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours include 460 persons, who were under home isolation.
The remaining persons have been discharged from Covid Care centres opened at Lamboikhongnangkhong (30), LANVA (13), CAPF (13), SHRI (11), JNIMS (9), NSU (7), Churachandpur (7), BB (6), RD Wing (6), Senapati (5), RIMS (4), Jivan Hospital (3), Babina Speciality Hospital (1) and Chandel (1) .
The cumulative number of Covid positive cases is 47,111 (general population-43,361 and Central security personnel-3,750) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases is 38,901 (general population-35,252 and Central security personnel-3,649) .
The number of active cases is 7,462 (general population-7,366 and Central security personnel-96) .
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1,402 D-type oxygen cylinders and 543 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different healthcare institutions in the State, said the Covid control room.
