Positive cases cross 10,000; three more passes away to take death toll to 66
Manipur again crosses 250 cases in 24 hours

Imphal, September 26 2020:
While the total COVID-19 positive cases has crossed the 10,000 mark, three more have fallen victim to the contagion during the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 66 .
A press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang said a 57-year old woman from Imphal East district died at RIMS during the last 24 hours.
Two more women passed away at Churachandpur, according to a late evening report reaching here, taking the total death toll in the district to 5 .
The two who passed away are from New Bazar area and Chiengkonpang.
Churachandpur police also reported that 8 of its personnel tested positive today, taking the total positive cases to nearly 1000 in the district.

This comes after one of its personnel tested positive a few days back.
On the other hand, 240 civilians and 20 personnel of CAPF were tested positive for COVID-19 during the last 24 hours at RIMS, JNIMS, Swiss Hospital, Thoubal, Noney, Shija Hospital, Churachandpur, Raj Medicity, Kamjong, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Kakching, Mothers Care, Senapati, Jiribam, Tamenglong, Imphal West, Ukhrul and Babina Diagnostics.
This is the second consecutive day for the State to cross the 250 mark (including CAPF personnel) of positive cases.
The cumulative figure for COVID-19 positive cases has reached 10,051 with the recovery rate standing at 76.42 per cent.
Out of the 240 civilians who have been tested positive, 120 belong to Imphal West, 36 to Imphal East, two to Tamenglong, 16 to Ukhrul, 11 to Noney, one to Kakching, two to Senapati, 20 to Churachandpur, six to Jiribam, 21 to Thoubal, two to Kamjong and three to Bishnupur.
Out of them, 232 have no significant history of travelling outside the State.
In the meantime, 79 COVID-19 positive people were found free of the virus during the last 24 hours.
As such, they have been discharged RIMS (1), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (43), CCC UNACCO (9), Kangpokpi (1), CCC Moreh (12) and CAPF (13) .
There are 2306 active cases (general population 1896, Central security personnel 410) while 7681 (general population 5953, Central security personnel 1728) people have been discharged so far following recovery from COVID-19.Meanwhile, 87 samples have been found positive out of 535 tested today at JNIMS.
Out of these 87 people who have been tested positive, 58 are military personnel (39 posted at IGAR-South and 19 posted at Leimakhong) .
Further, 32 people tested positive in Imphal West district.
They include four residents each of Samurou Mayai Leikai and Khagempalli Panthak.
Seven others were also found infected by the virus after RAT at Thoubal.
