3206 samples tested, 380 new cases, 11.9 daily positivity rate, 4 deaths reported

Imphal, August 26 2021:
Low count of new cases corresponding to low number of daily tests conducted continued for the seventh day with 380 people returning positive results out of a total 3206 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
This is the seventh day in the row, since August 20, that Manipur has tested below 4000 samples on a single day and correspondingly this is also the seventh day in the row that the State has returned under 400 new cases.
With 380 people returning positive results out of the 3206 samples tested, the daily positivity rate continues to be in double digit with the last 24 hours returning a figure of 11.9 percent.
Out of the 380 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, one is a Central security personnel.
During the same period of time the virus claimed another four lives to take the total number of deaths to 1767 .
Since August 22, Manipur has been reporting daily deaths of four people.
Quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the COVID-19 Common Control Room said that the four deceased people were from Imphal West (1), Imphal East (1), Ukhrul (1) and Kangpokpi (1) .
None of the four deceased persons had received their vaccination shots and out of them 2 had co-morbidities.
The 379 civilians who tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours are from Imphal East (82), Imphal West (144), Thoubal (20), Bishnupur (25), Kakching (10), Ukhrul (40), Churachandpur (14), Senapati (7), Tamenglong (20), Jiribam (1), Pherzawl (1), Kamjong (9) and Kangpokpi (6) .
With the addition of 380 more cases, the cumulative number of infected persons is 1,12,355 including 4099 Central security personnel.
The number of active cases is now 3596 inclusive of 23 Central security personnel.
On the other hand 352 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (120), RIMS (23), JNIMS (40), CCCs (86) and CHICs (83).The cumulative number of recovered cases now stands at 1,06,992 including 4071 Central security personnel, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The recovery rate is 95.22 percent.
On August 25 a total of 7608 people were vaccinated, including 3,19,448 people who have received their second dose.
The total number of people who have received their vaccination jabs is 15,00,385 .
In the last 24 hours a total of 1435 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 332 B Type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health centres across the State.
The COVID-19 Common Control Room has given the availability of Covid beds as RIMS (General beds-148, ICU-15), JNIMS (General beds-45), Iland Hospital, free of cost (General beds-16), MSF, Little Flower School, free of cost (General beds-12, ICU-6), CMC Koirengei (General beds-25, ICU-5), Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (General beds-22, ICU-3), Jivan Hospital, Kakching (General beds-16, ICU-8), Shija Hospital (General beds-27, ICU-27), Raj Medicity (General beds-65, ICU-17) .
