Govt gets Guv's consent to table all three Bills in the House

Imphal, August 26 2015:
Governor Syed Ahmed has given his consent on tabling three Bills in the Manipur Legislative Assembly aimed at providing a constitutional safeguard to the indigenous people of Manipur.
Subsequently, the State Cabinet has decided to hold a two-day special Assembly session on August 28 and 31.Meanwhile, the Speaker has reconvened an emergency sitting of the 11th session (Part III) of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 28 at 11 am in the Assembly Hall of Manipur Legislative Assembly.

An emergency Cabinet was held today at the Chief Minister's Secretariat at 4 pm with Chief Minister O Ibobi in the chair.
Speaking to media persons after the Cabinet meeting, Government spokesman and Education Minister M Okendro stated that the Governor today gave his consent to table the Protection of Manipur Peoples Bill 2015, the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms (Seventh amendment) Bill 2015 and the Manipur Shop and Establishments (Second amendment) Bill 2015 .
The Governor gave his consent after acknowledging people's relentless struggle and the State Government's efforts to protect indigenous people.
Subsequently, the State Cabinet has decided to table the Bills on August 28 and pass them on August 31.In line with the Cabinet decision, a meeting of the Manipur Legislative Assembly's Business Advisory Committee would be held tomorrow.
Stating that the State Government is determined to enforce ILPS or a similar mechanism to protect the indigenous people of Manipur, Okendro asserted that all demands and aspirations of JCILPS and the general public have been incorporated in the three Bills.
Pointing that the State Government's assurance to pass a new Bill within the current month would be soon transformed into action, the Education Minister appealed to the masses restore normalcy and create a conducive atmosphere for re-opening all educational institutions.
