Daily positivity rate continues in double digit with 12.8 pc
15 more deaths, 561 new cases reported

Coronavirus continues to exact a heavy toll with 15 more succumbing to the virus in the last 24 hours and 561 persons, including seven Central armed police personnel testing positive during the same period.
Quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the COVID-19 Common Control Room today said that 15 persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.
The deceased persons were from Imphal East (5), Imphal West (2), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (3), Tamenglong (2), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
They passed away at RIMS (5), JNIMS (4), Shija (2), Raj Medicity (1), Churachandpur District hospital (1) and Tamenglong District Hospital (2) .
With 15 more, the cumulative number of deaths now stands at 1108 .
A total of 561 persons including 7 Central security personnel tested positive in the last 24 hours.
The 561 positive cases came from 4516 samples tested during the same period and the day's positivity rate is 12.4 percent.
The positive cases from amongst the general population of 554 are from Imphal East (77), Imphal West (203), Thoubal (70), Bishnupur (45), Kakching (40), Ukhrul (17), Churachandpur (57), Chandel (7), Tamenglong (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (6), Pherzawl (1) and Kangpokpi (14) .
All necessary precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing have been put into place, said the Common Control Room.
With the addition of 561 more cases, the cumulative number of positive cases now stands at 67,317 (general population-63,502 and Central security personnel-3815) .
On the other hand, 534 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours and this include 228 from home isolation, RIMS (18), JNIMS (8), CCCs (112) and CHICs (168) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases has gone up to 60,529 (general population-56,762 and Central security personnel-3767).The recovery rate now stands at 89.91 percent.
The number of active cases in the State is 5680 (general population-5637 and Central security personnel-43) .
The total number of persons who have been vaccinated stands at 5,23,899 .
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1739 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 365 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
The COVID-19 Common Control Room has again asked all those whose oxygen level is below 94 pc to seek medical advice immediately or shift to a Covid Care Centre.
