585 new positive cases detected, 8 more deaths reported

Imphal, June 25 2021:
A record number of 4083 persons discharged, though with a rider, marked the day which reported 585 new positive cases and 8 deaths due to COVID-19 .
The COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement today said that 4083 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours but added that out of this, 'due to various reasons, 3455 persons are reported as discharged cases only today.
Therefore the total number of recovered cases is considered as 4083 after reconciliation with reports from IDSP team, home isolation team, community home isolation, and hospitalisation team' .
The rest 628 persons were discharged from home isolation (330), RIMS (13), JNIMS (5), CCCs (86) and CHICs (194) .
With the addition of 4083 recovered cases today, the recovery rate has shot up to 89.87 percent.
Eight more persons succumbed to the virus during the last 24 hours, to take the death toll to 1093 in Manipur due to the virus.
The deceased belonged to Imphal East (1), Imphal West (1), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1) and Kakching (3).They passed away at RIMS (1), JNIMS (2), Shija Hospital (3), Raj Medicity (1) and Jivan Hospital (1) .
On the other hand, 585 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours including 293 women.
All were from the general population.
The new 585 cases were detected at RIMS (42), JNIMS (60), District hospitals (313) and other testing centres (170) .
The positive cases were detected out of a total sample of 4587 and the daily positivity rate has been pegged at 12.8 percent.
The positive cases were drawn from Imphal East (101), Imphal West (212), Thoubal (69), Bishnupur (54), Kakching (31), Ukhrul (7), Churachandpur (53), Chandel (4), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (18), Teng-noupal (3), Jiribam (15), Kangpokpi (15) and Noney (2) .
All necessary precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing have been initiated, added the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
With the addition of 585 more cases, the cumulative number of positive cases now stands at 66,756 (general population-62,948 and Central security personnel-3808).The number of active cases is 5668 (general population-5629 and Central security personnel-39) .
The total number of people who have received the vaccination shot is now 5,15,590 .
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1795 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 324 B Type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health centres across the State.
The COVID-19 Common Control Rooms has once again the reminded the people to seek medical advice if their oxygen level drops below 94 percent.
