11 more deaths recorded, positivity rate continues in double digit with 12.8 pc

Imphal, June 24 2021:
With 4278 samples tested today, Manipur witnessed a slight drop in the number of test and in the number of new positive cases as well and 549 positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
On June 23, Manipur saw a total of 5336 tests conducted and the total number of positive cases detected was 629 .
Even as the number of the tests conducted as well as the number of positive cases registered a slight drop, the daily positivity rate saw a slight increase from the 11.8 percent of June 23 to 12.8 percent on June 24.Manipur again returned to the double digit figure in the number of daily deaths, with 11 more falling victim to the virus in the last 24 hours.
Quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the COVID-19 Common Control Room said that the deceased belonged to Imphal West (2), Imphal East (2), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (2), Chandel (1), Tamenglong (1), Kangpokpi (1) and Churachandpur (1).They passed away at RIMS (2), JNIMS (5), Shija Hospital (2), Raj Medicity (1), Churachandpur District Hospital (1).With 11 more, the cumulative number of deaths is now 1085 .
On the other hand, of the 549 persons who tested positive in the last 24 hours, 279 were women.
They tested positive at RIMS (19), JNIMS (29), District Hospitals (338) and other testing centres (163) .
The 549 persons are from Imphal East (103), Imphal West (188), Thoubal (49), Bishnupur (53), Kakching (43), Ukhrul (30), Churachandpur (33), Chandel (6), Senapati (4), Tamenglong (14), Tengnoupal (6), Kangpokpi (17), Pherzawl (1) and Noney (2) .
With the new cases, the cumulative number of positive cases has gone up to 66,171 (general population-62,363 and Central security personnel-3808).Altogether 655 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours with 344 from home isolation, 8 from RIMS, 9 from JNIMS, 99 from CCCs and 195 from CHICs.
The number of recovered cases is now 55,912 (general population-52,148 and Central security personnel-3764) and the number of active cases is 9174 (general population-9135 and Central security personnel-39) .
The recovery rate now stands at 84.49 percent.
The total number of vaccinated persons stands at 5,10,644 and again the COVID-19 Common Control Room has failed to mention how many have received their second dose.
A source from the Health Department however said that a total of 5,93,299 individuals have received the vaccination shots The Common Control Room has once again reminded the people to seek medical help if their oxygen level drops below 94 percent.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 2128 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 412 B Type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health centres.
