Imphal, December 22 2021: Even as the single day Covid positivity rate has dipped further to 0.5 percent against 0.7 percent updated on Tuesday with the addition of eight fresh cases, at least three deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Covid deaths were reported from Imphal West, Bishnupur and Churachandpur and with this figure the death toll has mounted to 1998 .

None of them had taken any dose of Covid vaccine, according to COVID-19 Common Control Room.

The eight fresh Covid cases were all confirmed from among 1,536 samples tested in the last 24 hours and are residents of Imphal East (4), Imphal West (2), Thoubal (1) and Bishnupur (1) .

Among the districts, Imphal East reported the highest test positivity rate at 1.7 percent as 4 out of 284 samples test positive and it is followed by Thoubal (1.2 percent), Bishnupur (1.1 percent) and Imphal West (0.5 percent) .

With 22 persons discharged from home isolation (7), JNIMS (8) and CCCs (7) after recuperation, the active cases have declined to 188 as compared to 205 updated yesterday while the recovery rate stands at 98.26 percent.

The cumulative figure of Covid cases is 1,25,669 which include 4,434 Central security personnel.

On December 21, the State distributed 268 D-type and 17-B type cylinders to different health care facilities in Manipur and administered 4300 Covid vaccine doses.

Till December 21, Covid vaccine has been administered to 56.16 percent of State's eligible population while another 41.25 percent has been fully vaccinated.
