Kpi logs 49.2 pc TPR; 404 new cases, 3 deaths reported

Imphal, January 22 2022:
High positivity rate, steep spike and three deaths marked the Covid situation in Manipur in the last 24 hours as the State recorded 404 new cases, including 12 Central security personnel, three deaths and nine districts reporting the daily positivity rate in double digit.
Occupying the last spot on the vaccination table, Kangpokpi scripted a sort of a record today returning the highest ever daily test positivity rate with 49.2 percent in the last 24 hours.
Eight other districts too logged double digit daily positivity rate with Chandel coming behind Kangpokpi at 28.6 percent, Kakching (27 percent), Imphal East (21.0 percent), Churachand-pur (20.2 percent), Imphal West (19.6 percent), Bishnupur (17.6 percent), Tengnoupal (16.7 percent) and Thoubal (10.6 percent) .
The overall positivity rate in Manipur in the last 24 hours is 18.1 percent.
No test was conducted at Pherzawl in the last 24 hours and at Noney only four tests were conducted with all returning negative results.
Quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the COVID-19 Common Control Room today said that the three deaths were reported from Imphal East (1), Imphal West (1) and Chandel (1) .
The cumulative number of deaths due to the virus has now gone up to 2022 and out of the three deceased persons, two of them have had their first dose of the vaccine while another one had not received the inoculation.
All the three had co-morbidities.
The 404 new cases were confirmed during testing at RIMS (58), JNIMS (46) and other testing centres (300).The 392 civilians who tested positive are from Imphal East (93), Imphal West (138), Thoubal (15), Bishnupur (15), Kakching (17), Kangpokpi (63), Jiribam (5), Ukhrul (1), Tamenglong (2), Tengnoupal (1), Senapati (4), Chandel (8) and Churachandpur (30) .
All necessary measures including containment and contact tracing have been taken up, claimed the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
With the addition of 404 more cases, the cumulative number of positive cases in the State has gone up to 1,29,661 including 4816 Central security personnel.
On the other hand 122 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (82), RIMS (1), JNIMS (7) and CCCs (32).The cumulative number of recovered cases is now 1,24,500 inclusive of 4473 Central security personnel and the recovery rate is 96.02 percent.The number of active cases is now 3139 with 337 Central security personnel.On January 21, a total of 7864 doses were administered and till date the total number of people vaccinated is 24,27,289 which is inclusive of 10,30,181 people who have received the second dose and 13,380 precautionary dose.
Overall 44.01 percent of the eligible population have received their second dose of the vaccination while 57.89 percent have received their first dose.
On January 21, a total of 664 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 94 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
