2 more die, recovery rate rises to 98 pc

Imphal, January 22 2021:
With the total number of COVID-19 active cases further declining to 197 (general population 189 and Central security personnel 8) in the State, the recovery rate has risen to 98.04 per cent.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, two persons aged 63 (male, Ukhrul) and 60 (male, Imphal West) expired at RIMS Hospital and Shija Hospital respectively during the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 369 .
In the meantime, 15 individuals were tested positive for the virus at RIMS, JNIMS, Maipakpi Hospital, Escent Diagnostics, Shija Hospital, Thoubal, Kangpokpi and Churachandpur.
The newly infected persons are residents of Imphal West (5), Imphal East (1), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (1), Chandel (1), Kangpokpi (2) and Churachandpur (2) .
On the other hand, 36 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (29), Shija Hospital (4), Raj Medicity (1), Ukhrul (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 28,953 (general population 25,534 and Central security personnel 3,419) .
It includes 28,387 discharged cases (general population 24,980 and Central security personnel 3,407) .
