State logs three deaths, 57 positive cases

The State's Covid-19 death toll has risen to 1959 as three persons belonging to Imphal West, Kakching and Chandel succumbed to the pandemic during the last 24 hours.
According to a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, all the three victims had co-morbidities and none of them were vaccinated.
On the other hand, out of 1,778 people tested for Covid during the last 24 hours, 57 including one CAPF personnel were confirmed positive at RIMS (1), JNIMS (5) and other testing centres (51).Today's positivity rate (TPR) for the whole State is 3.2 per cent with Imphal West recording highest positivity rate at 6.7 per cent followed by Imphal East 4.5 per cent.
The 56 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (12), Imphal West (40), Bishnupur (2), Chandel (1) and Kamjong (1), informed a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
Meanwhile, following recovery, 53 Covid-19 posi- tive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (20), RIMS (1), JNIMS (15) and CCCs (17) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,24,757 (general population 1,20,395 and Central security personnel 4,362) .
It includes 588 active cases (general population 572 and Central security personnel 16) and 1,22,210 recovered cases (general population 1,17,869 and Central security personnel 4,341).The recovery rate as on Friday is 97.96 per cent.
Meanwhile, a total of 255 D-type oxygen cylinders and 91 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State on Thursday.
The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 20,90,419 (first dose 12,67,217 and second dose 8,23,202) .
It includes 6246 doses administered yesterday.
Till yesterday, 54.13 per cent of the State's total population had been given the first dose of Covid vaccine while 35.16 per cent had received both the first and second doses.
