The family members have not yet claimed the body.
The family members and the Joint Action Committee (JAC) are expected to make a decision after meeting the Chief Minister in the evening.
Laishram ningol Naorem ongbi Sanjita, was the wife of Dipak of Kakwa Naorem Leikai.
Sanjita was admitted to RIMS on September 12 morning with signs of suffocation and vomiting due to smoke from tear gas shells fired by security personnel the previous night.
She was pregnant at the time.
Sanjita was first admitted in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department.
As her health deteriorated, she was then taken to the Neuro Intensive Care Unit of RIMS hospital and kept on ventilation.
While Sanjita was battling for life, her unborn child was declared dead inside the womb on September 13 at around 5.30 pm.
In the morning of September 14 at around 5, Sanjita gave birth to a stillborn baby.
On September 14, angry family members and locals brought the stillborn child and handed it over to Singjamei police to register their anger and accused the force of killing the baby inside the mother's womb.
The public alleged that it was the police firing tear gas shells that killed the baby inside the womb.
As anger grew among the public, the evening turned violent with mobs attacking Singjamei police station.
Protesters pelted stones and fired slingshots at the police.
Security forces brought the situation under control by firing dozens of tear gas shells and smoke bombs late into the night.
On the same day, a Joint Action Committee (JAC) was formed and its members met with Chief Minister N Biren.
