Daily Covid positivity rate of State dips to 9.29 %

Imphal, August 17 2021: The COVID-19 positivity rate in the Staje touched the lowest since June 17 this year at 9.29 percent on Tuesday.

According to a statement of the COVID-19 Control Room, 4,336 samples Were tested in the last 24 hours, of which the result of 403 returned positive, including 2 from CAPF personnel.

The number of active cases now stands at 5,721 .

The positive persons were tested at RIMS (6), JNIMS (28), District Hospitals (276) and other testing centres (93) .

The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (80), Imphal West (144), Thoubal (15), Bishnupur (28), Kakching (33), Ukhrul (10), Churachandpur (48), Chandel (6), Senapati (7), Tamenglong (3), Tengnoupal (1), Jiribam (10), Kamjong (1) and Kangpokpi (15) .

The death toll, on the other hand, has mounted to 1722, with 6 deaths reported from Imphal East (2), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (2) and Churachandpur (1) in the last 24 hours.

Of the 6 deaths, 4 had comorbidity while 1 of them had 1st dose and 2 others were fully vaccinated.

Today, 946 persons were discharged.

They are from Home Isolation (610), RIMS (31), JNIMS (12), CCCs (144) and CHIC (149), taking the recovered cases to 1,01,505.The recovery rate is 93.16 percent.

On vaccination, the State has administered 1,449,596 (1st dose - 1,170,210 and 2nd dose - 2,79,386) so far, including the 9,152 doses administered on August 16.Meanwhile, 1320 D Type and 377 B-Type Oxygen cylinders were distributed to different health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

The number of Covid beds as enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room as on August 17 is RIMS (General beds-66 and ICU-13), JNIMS (General beds-8, ICU beds-2), Raj Medicity (General beds-58, ICU beds-16), Shija Hospital (General beds-13, ICU beds-12), ILAND Hospital (General beds-15, free of cost), Jivan Hospital, Kakching (General beds-15, ICU beds-6), Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (General beds-18, ICU beds-1), CMC Koirengei (General beds-30, ICU beds-5), MSF, Little Flower School (ICU beds-3, ICU beds -10 free of cost) .
