COVID active cases decline to 343

Imphal, January 17 2021:
The total number of COVID-19 active cases in the State has further declined to 343 even though 21 persons including four personnel of CAPF tested positive for the virus during the last 24 hours.
The new positive cases were detected at RIMS, JNIMS, Advance Hospital, Shija Hospital, Thoubal, Churachandpur, Noney and Tamenglong.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, the 17 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (5), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1), Churachandpur (8), and Tamenglong (1) .
On the other hand, 58 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from CAPF (1), home isolation (52), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (3) and Kamjong (2) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 28,856 (general population 25,438 and Central security personnel 3,418) .
It includes 343 active cases (general population 303 and Central security personnel 40) and 28,147 discharged cases (general population 24,773 and Central security personnel 3,374) .
hile the death toll stands at 366 as there was no report of COVID-19 related death during the last 24 hours, the recovery rate has reached 97.54 per cent.
Meanwhile, 28 people were given Covishield shots at Tamenglong today.
So far, no side effect has been seen nor any complaint received from any one who has been given Covishield shot, informed a source while speaking to The Sangai Express.
