State records zero Covid death, 71 positive cases

After many days of continuous Covid-19 fatality, there was no report of death due to the pandemic in the State during the last 24 hours which keeps the death toll at 1953.However, the daily positivity rate rose to 3.5 per cent as 71 people including one CAPF were confirmed positive at RIMS (7), JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (61) out of 2,025 samples tested for the virus during the last 24 hours.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoi-rom Sasheekumar Mangang, the 70 civilians who have been tested positive belong to Imphal East (24), Imphal West (29), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (4), Churachandpur (3), Kamjong (1), Noney (1) and Ukhrul (5) .
During the last 24 hours, Noney logged the highest positivity rate at 7.7 per cent followed by Imphal East 6.5, Ukhrul 6.3 per cent and Kakching 6.2 per cent.
On the other hand, 50 people who were undergoing treatment for Covid-19 have been discharged from home isolation (9), JNIMS (14) and CCCs (27) as they have recovered.
Further, due to various reasons, 284 persons are reported as discharged cases only today.
Therefore the total number of recovered cases is considered as 334 after reconciliation with reports from IDSP team, home isolation team, community home isolation and hospitalisation team.
As such the total number of active cases has come down to 537 (general population 525 and Central security personnel 12) which puts the recovery rate at 98 per cent.
The cumulative number of positive cases is now 1,24,588 (general population 1,20,237 and Central security personnel 4,351).It also includes 1,22,098 recovered cases (general population 1,17,764 and Central security personnel 4,351) .
Meanwhile, a total of 349 D-type oxygen cylinders and 15 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 20,68,404 (first dose 12,63,238 and second dose 8,05,167) .
It includes 8,447 doses administered yesterday.
Out of the State's total population, 53.96 per cent has been given the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine while 34.39 per cent has been given both the first and second doses.
