Imphal, November 16 2011:
Like in 1949 when the Congress party conspired and usurped the sovereignty of Manipur, the same party is now plotting to disintegrate Manipur in the name of Supra State body for Nagas, stated BJP State unit president Sh Shantikumar and vice-president Prof S Tiken.
They also vowed that BJP would fight back the Congress party's threat to the integrity of Manipur in the Parliament.
Speaking to media persons at their Nityaipat Chuthek office today, Shantikumar and Prof Tiken remarked that the proposed Supra State body appears to be a secret conspiracy hatched by the ruling Congress party in collusion with the Congress Governments of Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
The proposed Supra State body which would encompass Nagas of Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh is tantamount to establishing a separate administration for Nagas outside the jurisprudence of these three States.
This is a direct challenge to the integrity of Manipur by the Congress party which is in power at the Centre as well as in the three States, they asserted.

Recalling that Chief Minister O Ibobi was received at Senapati with uncivil words when he visited there together with Union Home Minister P Chidambaram recently, the BJP leaders alleged that the incident showed Ibobi is not fit to remain the Chief Minister of Manipur.
They demanded a white paper on the closed door meeting held between P Chidambaram and Naga leaders at Senapati on the same day.
It was the Congress party which conspired for the merger of Manipur with India in 1949.Again, it was the Congress leaders who gave Manipur's Kabow Valley to Myanmar (Burma ) on a platter, they recalled.
While the Congress leaders at the Centre have been plotting to disintegrate Manipur, Ibobi maintained that he had no idea.
This only proved his incompetence as a Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister should ask the Union Home Minister to come up with a detailed clarification to ward off a massive uprising in Manipur, they asserted.
Congress leader Rishang Keishing signed a pact in the past in accordance to which the United Naga Integration Council was merged with the Congress party and he also declared that the merger was not unconstitutional, and one could demand a separate State.
Such open endorsement of the demand for greater Nagaland only emboldened the Congress leaders at the Centre to challenge the territorial integrity of Manipur, the BJP leaders stated.
NSCN-IM which is holding peace talk with the Government of India is not a competent authority which can represent the whole Naga community.
To view NSCN-IM as representing the whole Naga community would be sheer misjudgement on the part of New Delhi.
The new issue of Supra State body must be deliberated thoroughly in a joint meeting of civil society organisations and political parties.
For this, the Government should convene a meeting at the earliest.
BJP would fight back in the Parliament the Congress party's repeated threats to the integrity of Manipur, they pledged.
