Imphal, October 16 2012:
Even though the Government of Manipur wishes for a permanent solution to the Naga issue, it would be too early to say anything as the points of agreement, if any, between the Government of India and NSCN-IM have not been disclosed, stated Chief Minister Okram Ibobi.
He was speaking to media persons during an inspection tour to Dolaithabi Barrage Project today.

"The Government of Manipur too wishes that the Centre and NSCN-IM come to an amicable solution and wind up the peace talks", Ibobi stated.
The Centre has sought cooperation from the Manipur Government but the exact points of agreement, if any, have not been disclosed.
As such, it would be immature to give any official comment on the matter, he said.
As reported, the Centre had secured a written commitment from the NSCN (IM) that it will accept the Indian Constitution and the Prime Minister had instructed the Union Home Minister to initiate political conversation with the Chief Ministers of Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh to work out a solution.
