Imphal, June 16 2021:
The 700 plus daily count of positive cases continues with 752 including three Central security personnel testing positive out of a total of 8492 samples tested in the last 24 hours and the positivity rate in the same period stands at 8.85 percent.
The 749 civilians included 332 women.
The death count returned to the double digit mark with 10 more fatalities reported in the last 24 hours to take the total death count to the four figure mark on 1008 .
The overall case fatality rate now stands at 1.63 percent.
In a statement, the COVID-19 Common Control Room, quoting the Deaths Audit Committee, said that 10 persons passed away due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
The late persons belonged to Imphal West (4), Thoubal (1), Kakching (1), Bishnupur (2) and Churachandpur (2) .
Imphal East reported no fatality in the last 24 hours.
They passed away at RIMS (1), JNIMS (3), Shija Hospital (1), Raj Medicity (2), Churachandpur District Hospital (2) and Thoubal District Hospital (1) .
As usual Imphal West continued to lead the table of positive cases from amongst the civilians with 231 more testing positive.
The other districts respectively logged-Imphal East (125), Thoubal (59), Bishnupur (37), Kakching (84), Ukhrul (34), Churachandpur (85), Chandel (7), Senapati (13), Tamenglong (39), Tengnoupal (1), Kangpokpi (21), Jiribam (7) and Noney (6) .
With the addition of 752 more cases, the active cases now stands at 9,078 (general population-9051 and Central security personnel-27) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has now gone up to 61,848 (general population-58,055 and Central security personnel-3793) .
Altogether 408 persons including 295 from home isolation, 12 from RIMS, 2 from JNIMS and 99 from other Covid Care Centres were discharged during the last 24 hours.
The recovery rate has seen a slight dip and now stands at 83.69 percent.
In the last 24 hours a total of 1272 D-Type Oxygen cylinders and 446 B-Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
The total number of persons who have received the vaccination shots is 4,77,432 .
