In the run up to Shirui Lily Festival...Kuki chiefs promise no disturbance to TNL

Chiefs of Kuki villages located along NH-202 (Imphal-Ukhrul road) have assured that there would be no disturbances on the highway in the run up and during the Shirui Lily Festival 2025 .
The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) and the Kuki village chiefs held a meeting yesterday at the former's headquarters, Ukhrul and the meeting focused on ensuring cooperation and harmony between the communities involved in the festival's celebration.
According to a press release issued by TNL, Kuki village chiefs clarified that they would not be held responsible for any inflammatory press communique released by the Kuki Village Volunteers-Eastern Zone (KVV-EZ) on May 14, 2025 .

Both the TNL and the Kuki village chiefs reaffirmed the agreement of 2023, which explicitly discourages any individual or village from frisking or checking vehicles and passers-by within the jurisdictions of Tangkhul Naga Long.
It was emphasized that any person acting contrary to this directive will face serious consequences as deemed appropriate by the TNL.
The Kuki village chiefs pledged their complete co-operation and support to the TNL in the lead-up to and during the Shirui Lily Festival 2025.They assured that there would be no disturbances, enabling a festive atmosphere where all attendees can enjoy the celebration in peace, according to the press release issued by the TNL .
