A 66-year-old Covid-19 positive man who returned from Manipur and was on treatment in Bengaluru died on Thursday morning.
The man was treated at Trauma care centre in Victoria hospital campus.
He was in ICU and on ventilator support since April 10 .
With this, Karnataka's Covid-19 death toll touched 13 .
He had travelled from Manipur to Bengaluru on March 12 and had developed severe acute respiratory infection and was on treatment in a city based private hospital.
He was further referred to trauma care centre and tested positive for Covid-19 on April 8.TNN Our Staff Reporter adds: The deceased was not a native of Manipur and he had visited the border town of Moreh for some days and left Manipur on March 12 .
At Bengaluru, reports of him testing positive for COVID-19 came on April 8 .
Even as a man with connection to Manipur passed away due to COVID-19 in Bengaluru today, a fresh report has come in that another girl from Manipur, working as a nurse at Max Hospital in Delhi has tested positive for the virus.
The 32 year old nurse was tested on April 14 and her case was confirmed on the same date itself, said a late laboratory report received here today.
Earlier another girl working in the same hospital as a nurse had also tested positive.
The first person was a young Manipuri girl, who tested positive on March 24 after her return from England where she studies.
The young girl has since been declared free from the virus after undergoing treatment at JNIMS.
She however remains in self quarantine after she was discharged from the hospital on Sunday.
The second to test positive is a man who had attended the Markaz congregation at Nizamuddin in Delhi recently.
He continues to be under treatment as his latest test continues to be positive.
Another young girl, working as a nurse at Delhi's Max hospital also returned a positive result on April 14 and she has been hospitalised there.
Earlier on April 6 another young girl from Manipur tested positive for the virus at Delhi.
She works as a nurse at the Delhi State Cancer Institute and she has been undergoing treatment since then there.
