Daily death count continues with two more casualties

Imphal, February 15 2022:
New infections continue, albeit on the lower side, but daily death count continues unfailingly, as has been the case in the last few days, with Manipur recording two more deaths and 102 fresh infections in the last 24 hours.
The 102 new infections include two Central security personnel and they returned positive results out of a total of 1815 samples tested to take the daily positivity rate to 5.6 percent.
Bishnupur recorded the highest daily positivity rate with 11.9 percent followed by Ukhrul with 10.1 percent, Kangpokpi with 9.5 pecent, Kakching (9.3 pc), Imphal East (7.7 pc), Imphal West (6.4 pc),
Tengnoupal (5.6 pc) .
In a statement, the COVID-19 Common Control Room, quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee said that two persons passed away due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
The two deceased persons belonged to Imphal East and Senapati and with the addition of two more the cumulative figure of Covid deaths in the State has risen to 2086 .
Though both had received the second shot of the vaccine, they were both suffering from co-morbidities, said the statement.
The 102 persons tested positive during testing at RIMS (7), JNIMS (8) and other testing centres (87) .
The 100 civilians who tested positive for the virus are from Imphal East (21), Imphal West (40), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (15), Kakching (4), Kangpokpi (2), Tengnoupal (1), Ukhrul (8), Senapati (2), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (3) .
All necessary medical precautionary measures including contact tracing and containment measures have been taken up, claimed the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
With the addition of 102 more cases, the cumulative number of positive cases in the State has risen to 1,36,032 including 4999 Central security personnel.
A total of 131 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (99), RIMS (6), JNIMS (9) and CCCs (17) and the total number of recovered cases now stands at 1,31,768 inclusive of 4933 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate is 96.87 percent.
Yesterday, 5721 doses were administered and the total number of vaccine administered is 26,37,445 inclusive of 10,98,960 second dose and 5,10,30 precautionary doses.
Manipur continues to lag behind in vaccination with just 46.94 percent of the total eligible population having received the second dose and 60.31 percent the first dose.
Kangpokpi and Ukhrul bring up the rear of the vaccination chart with just 14.84 percent and 20.71 percent respectively having received the second dose.
At RIMS out of the total 300 beds available for Covid patients, 251 are vacant and at JNIMS out of 190 beds 113 beds are vacant.
On February 14, a total of 453 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 119 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
