Imphal, February 15 2016:
A meeting of the State's Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has condemned in the strongest term the baseless statements made by the Chief Minister of a neighbouring State regarding the three Bills unanimously passed by the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
The CLP meeting presided by Chief Minister O Ibobi this afternoon further decided to rectify the eligibility criteria given by MPSC for Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination which is scheduled on February 28 .
Briefing media persons after the CLP meeting, Government spokesman M Okendro said that the Government of Manipur welcomed the two Chief Ministers of two neighbouring States who attended Lui-Ngai-Ni festival at Ukhrul.

CLP Members who attended the meeting were of the opinion that the two Chief Ministers were making undue interference in the internal matters of Manipur with a diabolic intention to sow seeds of discord and disunity among different communities of Manipur.
Reacting to Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang's statement which hailed the four NPF MLAs who tendered resignation in protest against the three Bills, Okendro stated that it is being examined with reference to the People's Representation Act whether the four MLAs tendered resignation on their own volition or under pressure from some quarters.
Whether the four MLAs have actually resigned or not can be known only after asking them directly.
As of now, they have been enjoying all the benefits entitled to a Member of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, Okendro asserted.
He said that the CLP meeting deliberated at length on the controversy over the Manipur Civil Services Exam.
After studying recruitment criteria of different States, the CLP Members agreed that the existing eligibility criteria of MPSC need rectification/modification.
Subsequently, the meeting decided to abort the ongoing exam process and initiate a new one.
Advertisement issued for the civil service exam would remain invalid until further notice, Okendro added.
Senior Advocate Khaidem too has lambasted Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang for his comments on the three Bills which were passed by the Manipur Legislative Assembly for protection of indigenous people of Manipur.
He said that the Nagaland Chief Minister's comment was nothing but spewing venom among different communities of the State.
