Lowest surge in last 40 days with 439 cases, number of test drops
Daily positivity rate continues to be above 12 pc

Imphal, August 14 2021:
A sharp drop in the number of tests conducted, a drop in the number of positive cases and a daily positivity rate of still above 12 percent but below 13 percent marked the Covid map in Manipur today.
Out of 3477 samples tested in the last 24 hours, 439 samples returned positive results.
This is the lowest since June 5, when the State returned a figure of 432 positive cases.
On August 13, a total of 4053 samples were tested while on August 14, the number of samples tested dropped appreciably to 3477 .
With 439 samples testing positive out of the 3477 samples tested, the daily positivity rate is 12.6 percent.
With the addition of 439 new cases, the cumulative figure of positive cases in the State has gone up to 1,07,668 including 4068 Central security personnel.
In the last 24 hours, the State Level COVED-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 9 deaths due to the virus, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement.
Out of the 9 deceased persons, 8 of them had comorbidities, said the statement and added that only one of them had received the first dose vaccination.
With 9 more deaths, the total number of persons succumbing to the virus has gone up to 1700 now.
The deceased persons belonged to Imphal West (5), Imphal East (1), Thoubal (2) and Tamenglong (1).The 439 persons who returned positive results in the last 24 hours included one Central security personnel.
Their positive status was verified during testing at RIMS (18), JNIMS (21), District Hospitals (290) and other testing centres (110).The 438 civilians who tested positive are from Imphal East (88), Imphal West (164), Thoubal (14), Bishnupur (53), Kakching (19), Ukhral (7), Churachandpur (33), Chandel (1), Senapati (4), Tamenglong (5), Tengnoupal (1), Jiribam (2), Noney (5), Pherzawl (26), Kamjong (2) and Kangpokpi (14) .
Necessary measures including containment and contact tracing are in place, added the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
On the other hand 573 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (236), RIMS (17), JNIMS (19), CCCs (145) and CHICs (157).The total however works out to 574 .
The cumulative number of recovered cases is now 99,440 including 4016 Central security personnel and the recovery rate is 92.35 percent.
The number of active cases is 6,528 inclusive of 47 Central security personnel.
On August 13, a total of 4191 people received their vaccination shots taking the total number of vaccinated people to 14,35,320.This includes 2,69,573 people who have received their second dose.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1529 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 417 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
The number of Covid beds as enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room as on August 14 is RIMS (General beds-15 and ICU-13), JNMS (General beds-14, ICU beds-1), Raj Medicity (General beds-48, ICU beds-17), Shija Hospital (General beds-10, ICU beds-14), Hand Hospital, Canchipur (General beds-11, free of cost), Jivan Hospital, Kakching (General beds-12, ICU beds-8), Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (General beds-20, ICU-1), CMC Koirengei (General beds-30, ICU beds-6), MSF, Little Flower School (General beds-3, ICU beds-8, free of cost) .
