BJP office not locked, says general secretary

Imphal, September 13 2024: Refuting the news report that the office of BJP Manipur Pradesh has been locked at the instruction of BJP National general secretary BL Santosh, BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary K Saratkumar has clarified that the party office is not locked.

Speaking to media persons at the party office at Nityaipat Chuthek today, K Saratkumar said that they did not receive any instruction from BL Santosh or any other Central leader to lock the party office.

Nowadays, attendance at the office is low because of curfew.

It would not be right for BJP leaders and workers to attend the party office in great numbers when the Govt has imposed curfew to bring the law and order situation under control, Saratkumar said.

After discussing the matter with the party's senior leaders, it was decided to limit the number of people attending the party office, he said.

Although the number is limited, some people are still attending office, he claimed.

He decried that the false report published in media has created confusion among the people.

On being questioned about the speculations that the Biren-led Government may be kept under animated suspension for some time, K Saratkumar maintained that there is no question of keeping the Government under animated suspension as of now.

If the Central Government had any intention to bring the State Government under animated suspension, it could have done so several times earlier, he said.

The question of bringing; the State Government under animated suspension or not should be decided by the party's top leadership, he added.
