Imphal, July 13 2021:
Manipur recorded the second highest death toll in a day so far with 22 falling victim to the virus in the last 24 hours.
The tally of 22 deaths in a single day is just one short of the 23 deaths recorded on May 19 this year.
If the State reported 22 deaths in the last 24 hours, then the number of positive cases did not lag behind too, with the COVID-19 Common Control Room reporting 796 new cases including 8 from Central security force.
The State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 22 deaths in the last 24 hours, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room and they were from Imphal West (5), Imphal East (3), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (5), Chandel (2), Kangpokpi (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
With 22 more added, the total number of deaths due to Covid now stands at 1309 .
On the other hand, the State reported 796 more cases including 8 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force in the last 24 hours.
The 788 civilians include 404 women, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The 788 new cases from the amongst the general population are from Imphal East (199), Imphal West (165), Thoubal (78), Bishnupur (80), Kakching (47), Ukhrul (19), Churachandpur (120), Chandel (8), Senapati (24), Tamenglong (16), Tengnoupal (3), Jiribam (12), Pherzawl (1), Kamjong (3) and Kangpokpi (13) .
All necessary measures including containment and contact tracing are in place, added the statement.
The 796 cases were detected out of a total of 4961 samples tested, taking the daily positivity rate to 16 pc.
With the addition of 796 more cases, the cumulative number of positive cases now stands at 79,417 including 3925 Central security personnel.
A total of 588 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (227), RIMS (15), JNIMS (7), CCCs (120) and CHICs (219) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases is 70,402 including 3823 Central security personnel and the recovery rate now stands at 88.64 percent.
The number of active cases on the other hand stands at 7,706 including 97 Central security personnel.
On July 12 a total of 14,369 people received their vaccination shots taking the total number of vaccinated people to 8,90,643 .
Out of the total, those who have received their second dose is 95,971 .
The number of patients admitted against the availability of beds in the health centres as on July 12 was RIMS (218/224), JNIMS (220/286), I Land Hospital (25/60), District Covid Facilities (154/332), MSF (29/30), private Covid hospitals (218/360) and CCCs (1171/2906) .
The grand total of patients admitted is 2036 and the number of beds available is 2162.A total of 1940 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 379 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State in the last 24 hours.
