Imphal, September 12 2024:
With the 100 days assurance given by the Centre to work out a solution to the crisis in Manipur set to complete in a couple of days on September 15, the likelihood of keeping the State Assembly under animated suspension has grown larger.
With tension running high in Imphal since the past few days, the Thambal Sanglen (BJP, Manipur Pradesh office) at Niyaipat Chuthek has also been locked since yesterday following instruction of the party National leaders.
According to a report received from credible sources by The Sangai Express, BJP National general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh called up party State unit president A Sharda yesterday and directed her to close BJP offices including the Thambal Shanglen at Nityaipat Chuthek in view of the tense situation in the State's capital.
Thambal Shnaglen has been closed since yesterday and tight security measures have been taken up at Nityaipat Chuthek.
It may be mentioned that the Centre had assured to work out a solution to the crisis in Manipur within 100 days of the third term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the said deadline will be completed on September 15.The Sangai Express also interacted with some Ministers pertaining to the emerging political dynamics in the State.
These Ministers said that the Centre takes the crisis in Manipur very seriously.
They are still hopeful that the Centre will act on their word and work out a solution to the crisis within the 100 days deadline they had given.
The possibility of the Centre putting the Assembly under animated suspension is high though it may be only for a brief period according to these Ministers.
Some MLAs of the ruling party who The Sangai Express talked to also shared the same opinion stating that the Centre will surely take a concrete action by September 15 to resolve the crisis in Manipur.
