LP Acharya interacts with IDPs, flags off bike rally

Newly sworn-in Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya visited Churachandpur today where he was received by IGP Nishit Ujjwal and Deputy Commissioner, Churachandpur Dharun Kumar at the latter's office chamber.
The Governor led a pledge ceremony and flagged off a Har Ghar Tiranga bike rally as a part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2024 .
From the Deputy Commissioner's office complex, the bike rally went to Pearsonmun village.
Later, the Governor visited a relief camp managed by the KCC at Molnom, Tuibong sub-division where he interacted with the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) .
The Governor distributed relief materials which included wheelchairs, drinking water and sweets and study materials to the children staying in the relief camp.

He also interacted with the IDPs at the relief camp.
The Governor stated that the Government has been making concerted efforts to facilitate peace and normalcy in the State so that all IDPs can return safely to their respective homes.
Later, the Governor held a meeting with members of various CSOs, students of Churachandpur Medical College and other student leaders.
They submitted memoranda to the Governor during the meeting which was also attended by three MLAs.
The Governor directed the District Administration to provide all requirements including foods and medicines to the IDPs.
On his way back to Imphal, Lakshman Prasad Acharya visited another relief camp at Old DC Office Complex, Loukoipat in Bishnupur district and interacted with the IDPs there.
After listening to various grievances of the IDPs, he assured his best possible support to them.
The Governor also inspected the facilities and amenities provided to the IDPs and directed the District Administration to extend their fullest cooperation to the Government in reaching out to the IDPs.
There too, the Governor distributed study materials, drinking water and chocolates to the children in the relief camp.
Talking with the IDPs, Lakshman Prasad Acharya said steps to restore complete peace and normalcy have already been initiated with support from the Centre.
He further said that he can understand the pain and sorrow that the IDPs are going through and assured that he, as a Governor, will try his best to restore peace and harmony in the State.
All should hope for peaceful coexistence and thereby promoting brotherhood among the communities, he asserted.
Earlier, representatives of the IDPs in the camp submitted a memorandum and requested for early redressal of their grievances and restoration of peace and normalcy in the State at the earliest.
