Death count continue in double digit with 15 more
554 more test positive for Covid

Imphal, June 12 2021:
The State recorded 15 more Covid related deaths and 554 new positive cases during the last 24 years, according to a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
With the death of 15 more COVID patients at RIMS, JNIMS, Shija Hospital, Raj Medicity, home isolation, Thoubal District Hospital, CCC Moreh and Churachandpur District Hospital, the death toll has now reached 959 .
The latest victims belonged to Imphal West (4), Imphal East (3), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1) and Churachandpur (2) .
Out of 7,958 people tested during the last 24 hours, 554 were found positive at RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals and other testing centres.
The positivity rate has come down to 6.96 pc.
On June 11, the positivity rate was 8.78 pc.
They are residents of Imphal West (171), Imphal East (118), Thoubal (73), Bishnupur (35), Kakching (19), Ukhrul (1), Churachandpur (54), Chandel (14), Senapati (17), Tamenglong (7), Tengnoupal (10), Kangpokpi (12), Pherzawl (2) and Jiribam (21) .
On the other hand, 751 people who were undergoing treatment for COVID-19 under/at home isolation (535), RIMS (28), JNIMS (11) and different Covid Care Centres (177) have been discharged during the last 24 hours following recovery.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 59,322 (general population 55,554 and Central security personnel 3,768) .
This figure includes 8,710 active cases (general population 8,708 and Central security personnel 2) and 49,653 recovered cases (general population 45,892 and Central security personnel 3,761) .
The recovery rate as on Saturday is 83.70 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1454 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 434 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the State.
Meanwhile, the total number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 in the State has reached 4,64,465, as per latest information provided by the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
Even though 14 air passengers were tested for COVID-19 upon arrival at Imphal airport, no one was found positive.
So far, 5022 air passengers had been tested at the airport and 117 of them were found to be COVID-19 positive.
