Steps on for community quarantine

All the people who are returning to the State from different parts of the country through Jiribam would be kept under community quarantine and the State Government has been making all necessary arrangements, stated Health & Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar.
Speaking to media persons at his Secretariat office this afternoon, Jayantakumar said that the people who would be returning to the State by train cannot be said to be sick or infected.
Nonetheless, as per the SOPs issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), all the passengers would be subjected to thermal screening and other forms of screening at Jiribam.

District administration and police would assist medical teams in screening the returnees.
Passengers who show symptoms would be taken to isolation wards of hospitals or healthcare centres.
Asymptomatic cases would be taken by bus to centralised screening centres opened in their respective districts, said the Health Minister.
After screening, they would be taken to community quarantine centres opened with the help of local MLAs.
District Surveillance Officers would examine the quarantined people in the morning and evening.
If anyone staying in community quarantine centres shows symptoms of COVID-19, he/she would be taken to the isolation ward, Jayantakumar said.
The centralised screening centres are IIIT, Mantripukhri for Imphal West, Modern College for Imphal East, Utlou High School for Bishnupur, Tuibuong Peace Ground for Churachandpur, Bethesda School of Nursing for Pherzawl, Lilong Haoreibi College for Thoubal, JNV for Chandel, St Joseph's School for Tengnoupal, Bakshi Ground for Ukhrul, Indoor Stadium for Senapati, Thomas Ground for Kangpokpi, CMO Office for Tamenglong, Tenkhoujang for Noney and Padma Ratna English School for Kakching district.
So far, 129 community quarantine centres have been opened and more would be opened in the coming days, Jayantakumar said.
For every person staying in quarantine centre, the Government would provide Rs 200 per day to meet his/her food requirements, he said.
