Covid death toll touches 2080

The State's Covid-19 death toll has touched 2080 as three more individuals belonging to Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal succumbed to the virus during the last 24 hours.According to a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, all the three victims had co-morbidities.
One of them had taken first dose of Covid vaccine but the other two were not vaccinated.
Out of 1600 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, 110 people including two CAPF personnel were confirmed positive at RIMS (12), JNIMS (15) and other testing centres (83), which puts the daily positivity rate at 6.9 per cent.
The civilians who have been tested positive belong to Imphal East (29), Imphal West (29), Thoubal (12), Bishnupur (14), Kakching (7), Kangpokpi (3), Teng-noupal (1), Ukhrul (4), Noney (1), Senapati (1), Chandel (3) and Chura-chandpur (4) .
Noney district logged the highest daily positivity rate of 33.3 per cent followed by Tengnoupal 16.7 per cent and Bishnupur 13.7 per cent.
Meanwhile, 131 people who have been undergoing treatment for Covid-19 had recovered and were accordingly discharged from home isolation (83), RIMS (8), JNIMS (18) and CCCs (22) during the last 24 hours, according to a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive people in the State has risen to 1,35,748 (general population 1,30,752 and Central security personnel 4,996) .
This figure includes 2321 active cases (general population 2224 and Central security personnel 97) and 1,31,347 recovered cases (general population 1,26,455 and Central security personnel 4,892) .
The recovery rate as on Saturday is 96.76 per cent.
A total of 280 D-type oxygen cylinders and 50 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
At present, 55 (out of 300) Covid beds of JNIMS and another 88 (out of 190) of RIMS are occupied.
With 7,712 doses jabbed yesterday, the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has risen to 26,22,092 (first dose 14,81,507, second dose 10,92,244 and precautionary dose 48,341) .
Till Friday, 46.66 per cent of the State's eligible population has been given both the first and second doses of Covid vaccine while 60.13 per cent has received the first dose.
