Senapati, January 11 2025: Chief Minister N Biren has sought cooperation and active participation of Church leaders, CSOs and indigenous and recognised communities in restoring normalcy and peace in the State like the Committee of Peace and Integrity (COPAI) did in the 1990's .

The Chief Minister inaugurated various projects and laid foundation stones of new ones while attending the 42nd Maralui Karalimei Swijoikang (Maram Students' Union) conference held under the theme "Towards a transformed society" at N Raisung Ground, Maram Bazar, Senapati today.

N Biren inaugurated Multipurpose Rural Develop- ment Centre in Maram Khullen and laid foundation stones for the construction of rigid pavement in Senapati district headquarters, tribal boys and girls hostels at Maram, tourist circuit in Maram area, Meeyamgi Shanglen (Multipurpose Indoor Hall), sports ground with gallery at Maram and Punanamei, office of SDO Lairouching, infrastructure of CHC Maram, PHC Maram Khullen and Maram police station.

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that the attachment of the people of Maram with their neighbours and afar dates back to time immemorial.

He also expressed happiness on seeing the discipline of students who are devoted to their works.

The Chief Minister maintained that by fostering inclusive development, mutual respect and equal sha- ring, there will be unity and a sense of oneness among all communities in the State.

Mentioning some welfare schemes which have benefited lakhs of people, he stated that Go to Village, CMHT and various other citizen-centric schemes were initiated to fulfil the objective of uniform development both in the hills and the valley.

He stated that a multi-storey vehicle parking is being constructed at Senapati which is the first of its kind in the State.

Indigenous sports complex is being built with an estimated cost of around Rs 14 crore.

He sought cooperation and support of the public for timely completion of various development projects being implemented in the district.

He also sought cooperation and active participation of church leaders, CSOs and various indigenous and recognised communities in restoring normalcy and peace in the State like the Committee of Peace and Integrity did in the 1990s.Francis Ngajokpa, former Minister exhorted the gathering to be positive in all aspects of life from the very beginning of one's journey.

He also urged all to take advantage of the available facilities and resources for the betterment of the society.

Former Deputy Speaker of Manipur, K.Raina applauded the CM for his concern for MKS.

Citing the theme of the conference, he stated that the CM is a role model for a transformed society as many changes have been brought in the State through various programmes.

Earlier, N Biren unveiled the monolith and unfurled the flag of 42nd MKS conference.

Various cultural dances and folk songs were presented by village youth during the programme.

The programme was attended by Govindas Konthoujam, Minister PWD & YAS, Leisangthem Susindro Meitei, Minister PHED and CAF & PD, MLAs J Kumo Sha, L Dikho, Senapati DC Mamoni Doley, Senapati SP Anupam, SDOs, DLOs and CSOs .
