State logs two deaths, 1.7 pc TPR

With 24 samples confirmed positive out of 1,429 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, today's positivity rate is 1.7 per cent while the death toll has risen by two to 1987 .
As per a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the two victims hailed from Imphal West and Bishnupur.
They had co-morbidities and none of them were vaccinated.
According to a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 24 were confirmed as Covid-19 positive at RIMS (1), JNIMS (4) and other testing centres (19) .
The 24 persons who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (10), Imphal West (12) and Kakching (2) .
Kakching recorded the highest daily positivity rate of 4.7 per cent followed by Imphal East 3.6 per cent and Imphal West 2.3 per cent.
In the meantime, 17 Covid-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours following recovery from home isolation (5), JNIMS (3) and CCCs (9) .
The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases has reached 1,25,478 (general population 1,21,045 and Central security personnel 4,433) .
It includes 344 active cases (general population 339 and Central security personnel 5) and 1,23,147 recovered cases (general population 1,18,724 and Central security personnel 4,423) .
The recovery rate stands at 98.14 per cent.
Meanwhile, a total of 621 D-type oxygen cylinders and 127 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 22,21,184 (first dose 12,97,996 and second dose 9,23,188) .
It includes 5455 doses administered yesterday.
Till December 9, 65.94 per cent of the State's total eligible population has been given the first dose of Covid vaccine while 46.90 per cent has received both the first and second doses.
