State records four more COVID deaths, nine of family positive

Imphal, September 10 2020:
The State recorded four fatalities due to COVID-19 during the last 24 hours pushing the death toll to 44 even as nine of a family tested positive at Imphal East, according to a late evening report.
The four persons infected by the virus died at RIMS, JNIMS and District Hospital, Churachandpur during the last 24 hours.
Sources informed that a 46-year old man from Khabeisoi, Imphal East who was admitted to JNIMS on September 2 died at the hospital yesterday.
A 68-year old man from Hatta, Imphal East died at the same hospital in the wee hours today.
Apart from being infected by COVID-19, the man was suffering from hypertension and heart problems.
He was admitted to the hospital yesterday.
The third COVID-19 death recorded during the last 24 hours took place at RIMS and the victim was a 74-year old woman from Sagoltongba, Imphal West.
She was admitted to the hospital on September 4 before she died at around 3.05 am today.
Further, a 42-year old personnel of 42 Assam Rifles posted Singngat, Churachandpur died at Churachandpur district hospital this afternoon.
The AR personnel was admitted to the hospital last night.
He died at around 3 pm today soon after laboratory test confirmed that he was COVID-19 positive.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 108 people including 26 personnel of CAPF were tested positive for the contagion during the last 24 hours at RIMS, JNIMS, Thoubal, Noney, Shija Hospital, Jiribam, Ukhrul, Churachandpur, Babina Diagnostic Centre, Bishnupur, Imphal East, Samaritan Hospital, Imphal West, Tamenglong and Raj Medicity.
Of the 82 civilians who have been tested positive, 15 belong to Imphal West, six to Bishnupur, three to Churachandpur, three to Tamenglong, two to Tengnoupal, one to Kakching, three to Jiribam, 11 to Imphal East, 37 to Thoubal and one to Ukhrul.
Out of them, 74 have no significant history of travelling outside the State.
On the other hand, following recovery, 245 COVID-19 patients have been discharged during the last 24 hours from JNIMS (9), RIMS (5), Thoubal (8), CCC Lamboi Khongnang-khong (34), UNACCO (28), Ukhrul (1), Kangpokpi (1) and CAPF (158) .
The total COVID-19 positive cases has spiked to 7470 (general population 5706, Central security personnel 1764) in the State.
It includes 1633 active cases (general population 1243, Central security personnel 390) and 5793 discharged cases (general population 4422, Central security personnel 1371).24 other individuals tested positive in Imphal West, four at Thoubal and three CRPF personnel at Jiribam.
Meanwhile, an official meeting held today at the Health Directorate decided to allow candidates from containment zones to appear for NEET if they test COVID-19 negative.
