Fitting tribute paid to SS Khaplang on 1st Death Anniversary

Imphal, June 10 2018:
Fitting tribute was paid yesterday to S.S.Khaplang on his first Death Anniversary.
S.S.Khaplang was the Chairman and the founding leader of the Nagaland Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) until he breathes his last on 9th of June last year.
NSCN/GPRN organised a solemn function to commemorate the first death anniversary at its council head quarter.
A statement from the MIP of the rebel group which abrogated the cease fire with the government of India in March , 2015 said that leaders from various revolutionary organisations of WESEA region and UNLFW attended the commemoration and paid tribute to the late leader.

"The late leader has been instrumental in forging unity among multi-ethnic struggling nationalities of the region and the successful establishment of UNLFW under his Chairmanship was one such realisation of his broader vision and fraternal concerns for every suppressed and colonised people in the West- South East Asia", the statement added.
"Late S.S.Khaplang will always be regarded as the Patron and father of the WESEAN nationalist movement and generations shall continue to draw inspirations from his exemplary leadership spanning more than five decades of sheer sacrifice and struggle until his last breath", it added.

Church leaders, civil societies, public leaders and hundreds of admirers thronged his memorial grave and paid rich tributes in various forms.
The leaders and representatives from ULFA(I),NDFB, UNLF, KYKL, KCP, PREPAK(Pro),PREPAK, NLFT, KPDC, KLO, RPF also attended the commemoration.
On the occasion the the NSCN/GPRN reaffirmed its commitment to stand by the ideals of late S.S.Khaplang and continue to ply the path laid by him.
