Imphal, September 08 2021: The State reported 268 fresh Covid cases and 3 deaths in the last 24 hours, pushing the active cases to 3,164 .

This comes a day after the State saw no Covid related death.

The new cases, including 10 CAPF personnel, were tested at RIMS (11), JNIMS (33) and other testing centres (224) .

The new cases from among the general population are residents of Imphal East (59), Imphal West (113), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (8), Kakching (6), Ukhrul (11), Churachandpur (35), Chandel (7), Senapati (5), Tamenglong (4), Noney (3), Pherzawl (2) and Kamjong (1) .

The daily test positive rate updated by the Covid Common Control Room for the last 24 hours is 8.2 percent which is marginally higher than 8 percent reported on Tuesday.

Despite the State continuing to report a test positivity rate below 10 percent since August 30, the positivity rate in certain hill districts hovers above 10 percent.

The districts that reported a daily positivity above 10 percent for the past 24 hours include Ukhrul (10.1 pc); Pherzawl (14.3 pc); Noney (17.4 pc); Kamjong (15.4 pc); Chandel (14.6 pc), Imphal East (11.8 pc) and Imphal West (10.7 pc) .

The three deaths, on the other hand, are all from Imphal East.

With this addition, the death toll of the State has mounted to 1805 .

Of the three new deaths, 2 had co-morbidity while 1 had 1st dose of Covid vaccine.

In the same period, 269 persons were discharged from home isolation (87), RIMS (9), JNIMS (15), CCCs (77) and CHCs (81) .

The recovery rate has improved marginally to 95.72 against 95.71 reported on Tuesday.

The cumulative number of 1,16,134 Covid positive cases include 4,157 Central security personnel.

Altogether 1567 D-type and 310 B-type Oxygen cylinders have also been distributed to different health care facilities in the last 24 hours.

The State has also administered 15,75,951 Covid vaccine doses so far and this figure includes 6369 doses administered yesterday.

The number of Covid beds as enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room is RIMS (General beds-180, ICU-21), JNIMS (General beds-46, ICU-11), Iland Hospital, free of cost (General beds-19), MSF, Little Flower School, free of cost (General beds-13, ICU-6), CMC Koirengei (General beds-27, ICU-4), Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (General beds-27, ICU-3), Jivan Hospital, Kakching (General beds-16, ICU-8), Shija Hospital (General beds-43, ICU- 30), Raj Medicity (General beds-82, ICU-18) .
